Customer Contact

I have been working with Mary Kay for three years now and I am still figuring things out in my business, but one thing that is important in a direct selling business is to keep in contact with your customers. You can’t have loyal customers who you get reorders from and build a relationship with if you don’t keep in contact. So today I figured out some things!

I have several customers who move around a lot. It is hard to keep track of new addresses if no one updates you. But if you send out Birthday cards or Holiday cards you can ask for the address and most of the time you will get it. I know I love real mail!

My process was super confusing until I sorted my customer list in excel by address (because they are all in the college town address) and then I had everyone grouped together so that I wasn’t flipping from state to state and I could focus on a specific location.

Sending the cards is easier now that I have customers grouped by Birthday on a separate sheet. It makes it so I am less likely to miss someone!

Then when I ask, do you want me to send you the holiday catalog it’s an easy yes or no as opposed to yes, but I don’t want to give you my address.

So today I am working smarter not harder.

Income Producing Activities

Today I am focused on income producing activities. (IPA) So far this week I have seven. Which explains why I am making a part time income. I’m doing part time work! The more I track, the faster I learn!

  2. Complete and submit weekly accomplishment sheet
  3. Facial tonight
  4. Watch success event
  5. Income Producing Sheet
  6. Lead generation/Booking

So today I had a facial booked at my house.  It got rescheduled for next week, but that happens.  My set up was so cute though I had to share it! It’s surprisingly easy to set up now because I have a routine! I don’t get as nervous as I used to! New additions to my set up are the in tray inserts that say what each step is and also the referral game! I’m also going to print out my hostess promotion!

This promotion is fantastic because it is generous and gets hostesses excited to shop (which is so fun!) and it also helps my business! To be honest I would love to give away a $100 dollar shopping spree for this! That would be so much fun!

  4. Putting away the See’s Chocolate that is in front of me before I eat it all.
  5. Reorganize bag
  6. Inventory

 

Set Backs and Opportunities

This week I encountered some promotional set backs. Some of the materials I need got lost in the mail.

I am more organized than I have ever been though! So I can be ready when the items get here!

There have been really big goals that I have not quite met, but I am much better off for trying!

I feel like anything is possible!

Six most important things:

  1. Use planner.
  2. Call preferred customers for registration.
  3. Set up appointments.
  4. Follow up with people.
  5. Work on improving my mental picture.
  6. Get Sales Director minded.

Going from full time hourly to running my own business is not going to be a seamless transition. Mary Kay Ash said that if you planned every day the way you plan a vacation, imagine what you would get done.

I’ve got some leads, time to get some appointments booked!

  2. Set up Planner.
  3. Contact people on my contact list for facial appointments.
  4. Fill out weekly accomplishment sheet.
  5. Training.
  6. Get preferred customer list updated.
